"We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children"
Tȟatȟáŋka Íyotake

Four Feathers Film was founded in the spirit of sustainability. The name is inspired by the feathers that are found beneath or around the medicine wheel of the native american tribes. The number four represents the four cardinal directions: north, east, south and west, but also the four seasons of the year or the four stages of human life and the four elements of life: earth, water, wind and fire. The logo also represents the viewfinder of a camera.
I have chosen this image – four feathers – to honor or point to a human tradition that deeply values the connection to the earth.
The feather is a symbol of fragility and power, of lightness and fleeting passages – freedom and inspiration. The feather was once used for writing.
Because cinema deals with images, symbols and emotions and is in itself a fleeting art form, the feather seems to be the right companion.

As for now, Four Feathers Film focusses thematically on stories surrounding sustainability as well as women driven stories.
Although this focus exists, a great story is one to be told, so there should be no limitations.
